We wish to introduce you to our new friends and benefactors at KMRY Radio, 1450 AM, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

KMRY is an "Oldies" station which broadcasts not only locally, but via "Cyber Radio" on the Web.

They stream their Broadcasts live 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You should be hearing a sample of their Broascast Day right now. This clip was recorded the morning of March 2, 2002 (The day of the big Snow Storm).

But first:

To obtain "Regular Listener Status" you must qualify as a "Geezer" or at least an "Old Fogie".

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for Geezer status you must meet all of the following conditions. Failing to meet these conditions, you may not be granted access. (Just Kidding!)

The Conditions:

You are a Geezer only if:

1. At Sporting Events, you put your hand over your heart when they play the National Anthem and sing it aloud without embarresment.

2. You remember the Depression, World War !!, including Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, and the Battle of the Bulge. You know who Kilroy was. You also remember the Korean War, The Cold War, and Vietnam.

3. If someone bumps you in a crowd, YOU apologize first, expecting no response.

4. If you are a man, (There are lady Geezers too) when a lady passes you on the street, you nod, and possibly say hello, or tip your cap or hat. You remember when men wore hats everywhere and in all weather.

5. When entering a door, you always hold the door open if someone is approaching behind you. You do this for both men and women.

6. You are not usually apprehensive about trusting or speaking to strangers.

7. You are embarresed when someone uses profanity in the presence of women or children. You also dislike profanity on TV.

8.You seldom brag unless it is about your Grandchildren.

9.You are getting a bit forgetful.

10. You tend to "put off" some things you used to do routinely.

Scoring

Nine or Ten right - You are an old Geezer.

Eight right - You are just a Geezer.

Six or Seven right - You qualify as an Old Fogie.

Five right - You qualify as just a Fogie

Four or less right - You don't qualify, and you probably wouldn't want to check out KMRY anyway! (But you are still allowed access if curiosity gets the best of you).

The world needs more Geezers!

Important! "Geezer" Status is not a function of age. Thank god, there are a few Teen Age Geezers around, though they will all miss question number one.
